MIL-STD 464 & High-Power RF
Compact Foldable Electronic Disrupter
Part Number: RFCL-400
APELC’s Compact Foldable Electronic Disrupter (or CFED) is similar in performance to the RF Footlocker used in mobile testing in that it produces peak electric fields of over 150 kV/m at 1m, and with identical repetition rates of up to 10 Hz.
The difference of CFED is its application in situations where mobility and portability are crucial to studying electronic attack effects and electronic equipment vulnerabilities. It also is used for MIL-STD 464C testing and demonstration of equipment survivability in scenarios with electromagnetic interference (EMI).
As the name implies, the CFED folds into a compact volume for transit and storage, and unfolds for operation, using the corner reflector’s gain and directivity properties.
The system is equipped with a replaceable, rechargeable commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) battery, and a small pony bottle of pressurized dry breathable air for an operational time of approximately 30 minutes.
The CFED is operated using a handheld fiber-optic remote control which allows the user to select single-shot or automatic modes of operation. In automatic mode the user may select a pulse repetition frequency between 0.1 and 10 Hz.

The RF suitcase should not be operated near computer-controlled machinery or unshielded electronic equipment unless the intention is to cause potentially irreversible damage. Safe operating principles should be followed when any user is in proximity of the system, and the high-voltage switch is on. This product is export-controlled and subject to ITAR or EAR regulations. A valid end-user statement is required for both foreign and domestic sales of this system.
